History

Langdon Area Hockey Boosters Inc. was formed in 1991. Team practices were held at an outdoor rink and all games were played out of town, until 1996.

In 1996, Dakota Spirit Arena, a 180' by 230' building, was constructed. Indoor skating was first held there on December 27, 1996.

We have all ages of hockey players, from Termites, Mites, Squirts, Pee-Wee, Bantam, JR Gold, and Old Timers.

Figure skating has also become popular.

Our skating season runs from late November or early December to February. It all depends on mother nature, as we have natural ice.

Dakota Spirit Arena has hosted other events, such as dances, auction sales, and the Rendzevous Region Music Fest.
